This group blog is aggregating supposedly insightful comments on Pakistani Internet and IT issues. Authors are human (so do expect errors) and are mostly based in Pakistan (which means that the comments and reporting is done from the 'battle-field'). It is only incidental that a good number of contributors to this blog also happened to contribute for the magazine SPIDER which brought them together in the first place.

Having read Bill's article, I think he's jumping the gun by writing about something he is still experimenting with.
I am one of the people Bill calls the 'alpha geeks' as I have been using Orkut since Feb 2004. Orkut started out mostly as a geek network, the owner is a stanford graduate and most of the first Orkut members were from the High tech industry.
Orkut is a pet project, so it should be treated like one. Everybody who works at Google is encouraged to have a pet project which helps the employees stay in touch with emerging technologies.
