Ata kirmani has developed an Urdu desktop for Windows XP. That is having a start menu in Urdu (left to right), having desktop icon names in Urdu.....
For more details and those interested can contact him at ataullahkirmani@yahoo.com.
Yayha Noor has developed an interactive training for Win 98 in Balochi language. He can be contacted at yahya_noor@yahoo.com. Good for those institutes giving basic computer training to the totally new.
Hats off to both of them for their efforts.

great work!!!.....i am looking for a Punjabi one ...hehehe...anyway what did he call Settings and Run in urdu?
The problem with urdu windows is that M$ does not see any huge cash benifit out of a minority of users in the world (namely Pakistan and some muslim population in India who still regard arabic as thir "mother script"). But the dilema is that this small minority will not become majority if there isnt a urdu OS. I trying to get hold of KDE(Linux Desktop) i8ln team whihc seems dead. Perhaps you should work on KDE for an internationalized desktop. I shall post my screenshots of urdu desktop based on curlup Nafees fonts.
ویسے اگر اردو سے اتنا ہی لگائو ہے تو اردو متن ہی مناسب لگتا ہے
:)
I am standing up and giving ATA Kirmani a standing ovation - atlast someone has developed the desktop in urdu. I have seen OS's in many languages and never in urdu - WELL DONE.
may i ask what font do u plan to use i hope its not the sindhi style as its difficult to read - additionally we need full integration for urdu in Word - as it would be neat to use some urdu in our Word composed letters or sometimes even in powerpoint -
Great job - awaiting its release
