Gmail updates

Gmail has updated. Gmailers using Window 2000, XP or more recent version can download Gmail Notifier. Google could have done a better job. They say more is to come . . .

Gmail Notifier is just one of the many 3rd party gmail API utilities. There's an entire gmail universe out there: http://gmailforums.com/ Enjoy.

why is everyone making such a big deal about google? lets see if they deliver the goods. everyone is out there to get Microsoft. fine their products arent that great. at least they work. there is no software product which is free of bugs. the only reason why microsoft products are vunerable to exploits and attacks is coz they are widely used. everyone's like hey microsoft is losing its market share. its not that bad as it seems. people just want to attack big names just for the sake of it.

After 1GB of Gmail...i came across one email account which has started providing 100 GB of space which is 2 times the space of my hard disk.

U can chk dis email service at

100 GB? Their data center probably looks like a cemetery! Just imagine a hard disk for every user sticking up like a tomb stone -- "Here lies the data of John Doe, may it rest in electronic peace". :-)) Digital data storage is a commodity now. Even those cute little USB memory sticks you can hang in a key chain pack up to 1GB and they're getting cheaper and cheaper.

hey hey! google domination is not because of its mail box SIZE.Here i would like to refer Tee Emm's comments on previous post:

Google's appeal is more about full-searchable email archives than its 1GB mailbox. This becomes more apparent as you collect your work and personal emails at your gmail account over the time.

I, for one, would be happy if gmail comes with 25 MB of mailbox. The attachments are always deleted, so even a handful of MBs are good for tons of text messages.

In short, Gmail competitors need to understand that unlike popular spam slogan, SIZE DOESN'T MATTER :-)

Here is popular feedback from people I've invited to Gmail: "Thank you! I'm was just very tired of my blue inbox interface. This is simpler and the size is welcome!"

To date, only two people have denied accepting my Gmail
invites and they are happy with Yahoo!'s additional MB.

I doubt if there's going to be a Gmail Messenger. I think Orkut is google's plan to enter the instant messaging arena! So, we can look forward towards 'Orkut Messenger' maybe.
