Network busy?

Yesterday, Mobilink's network crashed (yes, again). Although Telenor has launched and Warid is due to offer its services this year, Mobilink is the largest cellular service provider, and one cannot expect all Mobilink users to switch over to other cellular service providers. However, PTA's just announced it plans to suspend Mobilink's license within 30 days and impose a Rs. 350 million fine on the company if they doesnt respond to a show-cause notice (source: Dawn). While Mobilink has added another dialing code (0301), it hasn't made much of a difference, and the crash yesterday is only proof of that. One can only hope (in vain methinks) that this threat makes Mobilink do something about their utterly horrendous service.

Well, i am not a user of mobilink service, but i must here mention that yesterday what happened,it was due to the fault at PTCL CABLES. All cellular phones are unreachable annd plus you cant even dial the international gateway . So to blame MObilink only is not fair.

I agree with your point , but i dont know , without regulation and stuff , where's this all going to? There's more to this story , now mobilink has sort of blocked telenor , dialing a telenor number from mobilink number isnt possible , trust me , i tried ~50+ times , and at different hours. Same's the case with Ufone.

Well, backbone is PTCL , its PTCL where the fault lies for the moment.

well ok we agree abt the PTCL damage cables etc but wht happen to MOBILINK to MOBILINK and MOBILINK TO UFONE....however Telenor can steal MOBILINK users by just a 1% of policies MOBILINK have already played.....and playing....
Though the connection was dismissed, its true, coz it affected me.............

It's not fair to blame Mobilink only, although I myself detest the company. I had been satisfied with Ufone since I was one of its initial customers, but their service quality is also dropping day by day, not to mention the comparison printed by the PTA a couple of weeks back. That Tariff comparison was a real eye-opener, and has made me detest Ufone and Mobilink equally. Ufone has blatantly ripped off customers and earned money using hidden charges. Imagine! Who charges you for just finding out your balance! I even heard that they're planning to charge for calls made to their helpline! I, for one, am just biding time until AlWarid arrives, and not even promises of crystal clear calls and lowest outgoing rates will make me stay with or switch to either Ufone or Mobilink. They have worked very hard to lose my trust, and I will *NEVER* go back to them. I will switch over to Telenor or AlWarid, whoever offers the best rates. The rest of the companies are not being considered because they do not think providing data services (GPRS or otherwise) is important, which makes them unworthy in my eyes. I just hope that this stealing from customers, as is being practiced by the major cellular companies, soon comes to an end.

Mobilink is more concerned with its Post-paid customers than its Pre-paid users, thats why Pre-paid users do not enjoy facilities like Post-paid users do. For the last few months Mobilink has been moving its bandwidth from 900Mhz to 1800MHz, but this change also couldnt bring the best out of it. Gaining customer traffic does not give power, thing that matter is customer satisfaction.

I cant say much except that Mobilink is the worst Cellular company in pakistan and yeah they are in some kinda quest with telenor you cant connect to telenor no from mobilink. And to add they have announced wi-fi zone. which of thier reps dont know at the mobile fun fair, to hell with k when i asked a mobilink stall where is the wi-fi stall he and all the reps said "WHAT Wi-fi! no no there is no such thing". And after that i find myself comfortable finding it on my own.

Mobilink is simply pathetic. If one word describes it all. i am bidding it farewell soon

As a pakistani, living outside of pakistan and hearing about some great developments in the field of telecommunications, it is greatly disappointing. What does it matter if whole pakistan is connected through a wireless connection but cannot make a call when needed? Quality is always the primary concern in the race of quality and quantity.

yeyh what a bull shit mobilink is it i just wana saay to mobilink to go and fck them self with there fingures

You know the base line is that, in Pakistan, there are no "Consumer Protection Rights". If in USA such a thing happens, like MObilink and Ufone, either the consumer protection agencies will fuck them off the face of earth, or otherwise some distrusted customer will file a multi-million doller law suit against the company. Thats why there is no Quality of Service in Pakistan. The show cause notices are just an eyewash coz it is only the second time in so many years that Mobilink has been fined, as compared to the total crash situation which occured only due to the pathetic mobilink software. For the last 6 months *111# on Mobilink gives me Rs.222.43 balance, no matter what the actual balance may be. Despite the couple of dozen complaints, no remedy. Pathetic. Simply pathetic.

Amazing.. Mobilink has now started charging for simple stuff like finding out your remaining credit. It seems there is more corruption involved in mobilink then they care about clients. PTA should bring Mobilink in for explanation about its services and make an example for the rest of the mobile companies. It is time for Moilink officers to stop making "We didn't receive any notification from PTA." remarks everytime and start taking actions.
