This is Pakistan

In blog directories {(1), (2), (3), (4) }, services, rankings, we do not see tangible evidence of blogs by Pakistanis. However, during my hunt, I have seen Pakistan blogsphere growing exponentially. Blogging is also not an economic hobbyhorse here yet but one can see some business blogs, sponsored ads at some. Though, English is a predominant language at the Web but look for it and you may find blogs in all languages including Urdu.
Light Within intends compiling a list of blogs by resident and non-resident Pakistanis. This does not imply that these are the best or busiest blogs published by Pakistanis, although in some instances, they might be, nor is the list conclusive. The list is intended to showcase blogs by Pakistanis. Moreover, blog worth attention will be reviewed here.
Leave your blog URL in comments here. Also, add any other Pakistani blog that you might have noticed.

Why doesn't Spider (the website) start a blog directory of it's own? It would be a fantastic starting point, considering that Spider has such a large readership and the blog directory would grow exponentially once word gets around.

Oh and, did I mention that I could run it for you guys, pro bono? Just a thought :)

LOL- surely the news is untrue like all @ SPIDER's news-bytes of 0405 - Its really funny to read about Spam university & Software Piracy but I wonder whats the thought behind it to do so...and yes CRYSP-list is hilarious anyway :)

Let's separate the issue of Urdu blogs from Pakistani blogs. And please don't get me wrong; I am a very patriotic Pakistani and also an avid Urdu fanatic; but there are a lot of Pakistanis that are writing in English, for example, and a lot of people who are not Pakistani that are Urdu nuts.

My own blog (98% or so English) is http://iFaqeer.blogspot.com, while I have finally starting to do something I have been meaning to do for a while; publishing thoughts and translations on Sufism, Urdu poetry, and related topics. For now, it will be mainly on the following page:

http://urdu-ke-naam.blogspot.com

The blog's not really "mine", but a collaboration with some folks who are mainly in Hyderabad (India), one of the traditional homes of the Urdu language.

Other blogs I maintain:

http://WadiWallah.blogspot.com - Technology, Life & Silicon Valley
http://Rickshaw.blogspot.com - Rickshaw!

Here's a link to a list of pure Urdu blogs:

http://www.sovereign-renditions.info/urduwiki/UrduBlogsDirectory

and useful Urdu links:

http://ur.wikipedia.org (Urdu Wikipedia--please come and help with it)

http://www.sovereign-renditions.info/urduwiki/UrduHome (Urdu Wiki, devoted to Urdu)

and you can even get templates to help you start a blog in Urdu:

Oh, and about G-mail, I'd be surprised--but I am in Silicon Valley and will try to keep you informed.
